Tasked with choosing a classic fairytale to rewrite and redesign, 'The Elves and The Shoemaker' caught my eye. I wanted to replace the tiny, quiet elves in the story with massive, clumsy trolls who still sneak in at night to fix the old cobblers shoes, just not as subtly... This book cover design is a digital painting done in Photoshop. Here, I could use brush techniques to add the details and textures as needed.
